Nigeria's Got Talent: Season 3

Talents shows are not complete if there’s no diversity in the kind of talents showcased. Episode 3 is centered on auditions held in Lagos, the centre of excellence. As expected, the crowd was overwhelming as hopefuls came out in their numbers to take their shot and impress the judges on the Nigeria’s Got Talent audition stage. To kick off the episode, 36 year old Bariyu Yesufu, a medical doctor by profession and a ventriloquist talent-wise, entertained the judges with his puppeteer skills. His act can be likened to that of our sister show America’s Got Talent season 2 winner, Terry Fator. Who knows; Bariyu may be the ‘Terry Fator’ of the first ever Nigeria’s Got Talent, maybe not.

Mr. Idowu Adekaka spiced up the show with his magic tricks. You could tell the judges were at the edge of their seats trying to see how he pulled off his tricks (pouring water on a newspaper without it getting wet). Now that is something that will keep you glued to your TV screen. Mr. Idowu’s tricks mesmerized the audience, judges and got a required number of yeses to see him through to the next round. Follow up acts in Lagos auditions included dancing from adorable children - they got encouraging yeses from the judges to see them through to the next round.

The show’s heating up and the talents are unleashed. You don’t want to miss the action in the next episode. Be sure to check the TV schedule, share your thoughts on Facebook @www.facebook.com/NigeriasGotTalent and on Twitter @niggottalent or visit www.gottalentnigeria.com.

FRESH OUT: Watch and Listen to Lanre's Ma Gbagbe

Fresh from being playlisted on the award-winning BBC 6 Music and selected to be on Lufthansa Airline’s Sounds of Africa playlist, British Nigerian singer, songwriter and musician LÁNRE debuts the brand new music video for her latest single “Má Gbàgbé” which is taken from her critically acclaimed debut solo album Pen Voyage Chapter One: Singing for Change.

Shot and directed by Olan Collardy with a fine and emotive display from Lánre who is in glorious form as she performs a rousing rendition of “Má Gbàgbé” with her acoustic guitar, the beautifully-crafted music video superbly captures the poignant and reflective nature of the excellent traveller’s song and sees Lánre pay homage to a lesson she learnt from her grandfather of “the importance of staying true to your core values and who you are regardless of where you find yourself”.

We are winning the battle against corruption - President Jonathan

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan today vowed that his government would work to harness the huge potential of the oil-rich country, which remains dogged by poverty and violence.

"I bring you today, a message of renewed hope and faith in the immense possibilities that lie ahead," said Jonathan in the radio and television broadcast to mark the nation's 52nd independence anniversary.

"The baton is now in our hands. Let me assure all Nigerians that we shall not fail," Jonathan said.

Insecurity, corruption, poverty as well as poor health facilities, electric power supply and infrastructure are some of the serious challenges facing most of the 160 million inhabitants of Africa's most populous nation.

Nigeria's north has been hit by scores of bombings and shootings attributed to the Boko Haram Islamist group, which is suspected of ties to Al-Qaeda and has been blamed for more than 1,400 deaths since 2010.

Jonathan, who was elected into office last year, said that his government was succeeding with its fight against the scourge of corruption in all facets of the nation's economy. "We have exposed decades of scam in the management of pensions and fuel subsidy and ensured that culprits are being brought to book," Jonathan said.

Do you think Nigeria is winning?

Happy 52nd independence.

Happy Birthday Nigeria. My people let's join hands together to Transform our Mother land Nigeria.

I have not one but two sex tapes - Kanye West

Kanye West is a sex tape master as he revealed that he has more than one sex tape. The rapper filmed himself doing the deed more than once in recent years. Kanye's second sex tape features a young woman in a hotel room and report speculates that the 1st and 2nd are nearly identical.

Both tapes are impressively long, the first is roughly twenty minutes and the second is more than forty! And we're talking constant action. Seriously, the guy takes no breaks. It's incredible!

I was made to understand that the tapes were both shot several years ago with exes.

Kanye's current Girl friend, Kim Kardashian rose to fame after her sex tape was released. And now, her boyfriend has steamy sex tapes of his own.

Is this some kind of publicity skit or what?

Anne Hathaway finally marries Adam Shulman.

One of my favorite Hollywood actress, Anne Hathaway had her fairytale wedding this weekend. The "Elle Enchanted" star and Adam Shulman said “I do” on Saturday at sunset in Big Sur, California. The ceremony took place at a private home in the coastal town, and the couple enjoyed a traditional Jewish ceremony.

The 29-year-old got engaged to Adam in 2011, and the couple has been inseparable since they first hooked-up, this is her first trip down the aisle.

Congratulations Anne and Adam!
